Reinout Hellenthal (1979) is a Dutch director, writer and producer of Indonesian descent working in the field of short narrative, documentary film, immersive storytelling and advertising. His fictional work is mostly characterized by stories drawn from real life and related to contemporary issues. Best known is the short film Something About Alex, which achieved international success with over 60 awards and 250 festival selections. With a broad taste in music, his resume also includes work for Cypress Hill, Machine Gun Kelly, BillyBio, Powerflo and Prophets of Rage. Currently Reinout is developing and writing newgen drama that features undisplayed and emerging talent.
