Reinout Hellenthal is a Dutch director, writer, and producer of Indonesian descent whose work spans narrative film, documentary, and immersive storytelling. Known for his emotionally charged, character-driven films, Hellenthal brings real-life experiences to the screen with authenticity and visual flair. His breakout short film Something About Alex became an international success, earning over 60 awards and screening at more than 250 film festivals around the world. A versatile creative voice with a passion for music, Hellenthal has also directed work for global artists including Cypress Hill, Machine Gun Kelly, BillyBio, Powerflo, and Prophets of Rage. Based in the northern Netherlands, he continues to champion new voices in film, serving as a creative force behind the region’s growing community of emerging talent.
